happenings in our life in a nutshell....
Where to even begin??
Shane and I got married last October--10.20.12 to be exact! Our wedding was everything I could have ever dreamed of!! I cant thank my mom and dad enough for giving me the day of my dreams!! 
Then we went on the most amazing honeymoon I could have ever hoped for!!!! A cruise to the Southern Caribbean! I love sunshine, clear water, suntans, umbrella drinks, making new friends, sunrises and sunsets, adventures, love, dressing up, wearing bathing suits, catamarans and nice dinners! And fancy that, that is exactly what our honeymoon consisted of so how could it not have been a good time!?! :) take a look!
We got back from our trip and had to adjust to life living together since we waited until we got married to live together! But honestly, it wasnt as hard as people made it out to be! Its all about respect,folks! After a couple months we decided we wanted to start looking for a house! So, we talked to my best friends sister, Allison! We told her what we wanted and what we didnt want! We started the search, looked at about 7 houses or so, and that was that! We found our house pretty quickly and LOVE it! We love being home owners! Shane loves working in the yard, I love preparing meals in our kitchen, we love doing new projects to spruce things up, its just all around, fun! *sorry dont have any pictures of the house on here right now-maybe later*
In July or August we started talking about getting me a new car. My car was at the point that it was going to need a lot of stuff done to it and we werent willing to put money into a car that wasnt going to last me for a while. I had wanted for the longest time a Honda Pilot. As we started looking we just realized the body style I wanted and the things I wanted in the honda pilot and then the price, just wasnt going to work for us. So I just became open and said, I want a specific handful of things in a car, I dont care what brand it is, as long as it has these things! One saturday after work we were driving around and decided to pull into the Toyota dealership and just see what they had,well I drove off the lot with a new to me car! 2008 Toyota Highlander and I LOVE it! Everyone calls it my mommy mobile and I dont even care! Because yes it will be my mommy car but its such a fun sporty looking car, I love it!
Now to end this long,probably boring blog post.....I will say this, we just celebrated our ONE YEAR anniversary and it was probably one of the best times we have had together thus far!!!!!! BUT I will save that post for another time when I can put our pictures on the computer so I can share with you!

Christmas 2011
ohhh Christmas! For some reason, this year, I am very excited about Christmas! Now dont get me wrong, Christmas is always a great holiday, A) for the real reason of the season B)the fun times with family C)the all around feeling of Christmas.
Last year I was not into Christmas....I liked it but I didnt have that great Christmas feeling and it was kinda sad. But like I said this year I am excited for Christmas! I just wanted to keep buying and buying for my family and everyone I bought for!!! But I realized I had to cut myself off!! ha! Although I dont get any time off for the holiday. Which is really a hard thing. Everyone I know gets at least a few days or so off. But I have to cope with the fact that I chose the service industry to work in. I just really wish I could get a couple days to spend more time with my family than just Christmas eve night and then Christmas day.....
Anyways, Christmas is here in 5 days but I will start celebrating on Thursday! We will start with dinner at the Angus Barn with a group of friends, followed by Shanes dads side of the familys Christmas get together on Friday, followed by Christmas eve at my brother and sister in laws house, followed by spending the night with mom and dad on Christmas eve and then church on Christmas day and a day full of fun, gifts, love and memories!! cant even wait! :)

Burton
SO I have always wanted a doggy. always. But never knew the right time to get one. Well about 4 weeks ago, I decided....Now is as good a time as any! All of our friend have dogs and they all play together when we all hang out and I wanted to add to that fun! So I did!
I got up on a Sunday morning and started searching the internet. Also some of our friends told us to go to this pet store in Cary called the Pet Pad. I found some puppies for sale in Louisburg- they were Morkies-super cute! Then I saw a breeder in Chapel Hill selling mini schnauzers- all boys left- which is what i wanted, two were black and one was white! I called the Morkie breeder and no answer so I left a voicemail. Then I called the schnauzer breeder and they answered and I asked if we could go look at them that day and they said yes! So Shane and I went to the Pet Pad in cary just to look at their puppies cause we never knew, there could be one I really liked there! They had a couple really cute ones, so we played with about 3 of them. Needless to say, I had ZERO connection with any of them!! They were all WAY to hyper and all over the place and just not what I wanted! So we left and headed to Chapel Hill. We pulled into their driveway and they had a big fenced in yard with the three little guys running around and playing! I looked at Shane and said "oh my gosh!!" I instantly fell in love!! We got out, met the breeders and started playing with the little guys. They were all three SO cute! The two black ones were really identical and then there was the little white one! He was just so different and he kept coming over to me and playing with me. I was having a hard time deciding which one I wanted but I finally decided the white one was the cutest because he was so different!( White schnauzers are very rare)
I did the paper work, gave them the money and off we went with my little puppy!!! We had discussed before we got there what we would want to name him...Shane had come up with Puck (because we both love hockey) and I had come up with Burton (just cause I thought it was cute) I told Shane that once we got the puppy I would say a name and whatever he responded to, thats what it would be. So in the car, I said Puck!.....nothing. Then I said Burton!....and he looked up at me, instantly I knew that had to be his name!!! Everyone says that it sounds like such an old man name and I agree! but ya know what, its PERFECT for him...he is such a lazy puppy--a lazy puppy that looks like an old man with his beard!!! I love him! :)
He has really been SUCH a good puppy! Hes very well behaved( as good as a puppy can behave) I have enjoyed every second with this little guy!! There is just something so rewarding about coming home to a puppy that is SO happy to see you and gives you kisses upon kisses!!! such a sweet boy! Cant wait to see how big he gets and spend many years with this sweet little joy! :)

we.are.human.
So this is going to be short and sweet.
Something I have re-learned lately is that we are human beings and are not perfect. I have obviously always known this but sometimes it is just brought to your attention more. And to be honest that is something so sweet to remember.... I feel like a lot of times I try and hold myself to a certain standard of doing things "perfect" and right all the time and this past week has just opened my eyes to remember that I am not perfect and never will be. And in that same breath, I have amazing family and friends that love me anyways, just the way I am, un-perfect.

slacker.
I am such a slacker and always say I am going to blog on a regular basis and then I always either put it off or forget. I dont really have anything special to blog about since I dont have a kid and Im not married. Im just living life....and loving it!
A few things I am learning as of late: Not to rush things. Cherish my friendships and the people I care about the most that make my life what it is. Life is short.
We only have one life to live and I agree we should make it count and do all the things we want to do but at the same time, ENJOY it as well and not rush things so fast that you cant enjoy.
I feel like I am in a never ending battle with myself to become healthy. Not saying that I am extremely unhealthy but I dont eat right for my body and I have a hard time working out. Well I am in the battle again, im REALLY trying to eat healthy and do some sort of exercising in the mornings. We will see how long it lasts but I am really going to try. I have done Zumba before with my friend Kendall on her wedding day and L.O.V.E.D it! So I am trying to find a dvd of it I can start doing at home but no luck so far. if anyone has any suggestions or knows where I can get one please let me know! :)
July is a busy month for Shane and I. This weekend (july 4th) we are heading to Lake Gaston to spend the weekend with out dear friends Ben and Kendall and baby rightmyer!!! Yup Kendall is pregnant and we are SO excited for them!!!!! I actually took saturday off so I am so thrilled to have an actual 3 day weekend like a normal person!!! :)
Then the next weekend is our only free weekend (9 and 10) we might be getting up with our friends Bryan and Michelle because we havent hung out with them since Vegas and we miss them!
The next weekend (16) is Jeremy and Tracy's engagement party! Which I am sure is going to be a great time!!
And then the last weekend (23) is our good friend Daniels birthday party! Which I KNOW is going to be a good time cause we ALWAYS have fun with all those friends! :)
Busy huh? yup I agree, but I enjoy busy!
I have been hanging out with my best friend since 2nd grade, Emilie lately. And we have just been having the best time. Her and I will go through phases where we hang out a lot and then not so much. It helps that she is a year round teacher and has big breaks during the year and she happens to be on one right now. I am not looking forward to her going back to school because that means she is moving to wake forest also and it might be harder for us to get together. Although we have vowed that we will make it work!! true friends are hard to find!!!
now that I have probably bored you, Im going to get going!

long weekend ahead!
SO this week for me is a 3 day week!! If that doesn't make you happy I don't know what will!
One of my very best friends, Kendall is getting married on Saturday to her sweetie, Ben. Such a great couple those two are- I would definitely say they are a match made in heaven, they compliment each other so well! So Kendall as me to be a bridesmaid in their wedding and I of course said yes! They will be getting married at Lake Gaston on Ben's parents lawn that backs up to the lake, it is going to be gorgeous, I just know it! Shane and I took Friday off work so we could get to the lake in time for the rehearsal dinner. Its going to be a fun weekend with great friends!
After the wedding and reception on Saturday, we are heading to Kerr lake to Shane's parents place with my mom and dad. Which I am QUITE excited about!! We are gonna hang out on the boat and the dock on Sunday and just relax. It is going to be excellent! I just LOVE the lake!
AND THENNNNNNNNNNNNNN to make things a bazillion times better as if its not already gonna be a great weekend....my most favorite sister and stinkin adorable favorite nephews are coming to town on MONDAYYYYYY for 2 weeks!!!!!!!!!!! You have no idea the excitement that filled me when my sister called me and told me this!!!!! ohhhhhhhhhhh boy! I LOVE THEM ALL MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)

I really am still alive.....
Lord have mercy, it has been forever since I have blogged. Mainly because Im not married, I dont have kids, no one really reads it, and compared to everyone else's blogs, mine is boring. :) But I figure I should keep it alive because one day I will be married and have kids and have fun things to share! Its all about optimism! haha
SO...my most recent fun thing to share is- Vegas!
Shane won a trip to Las Vegas through his work and he asked me to go with him! It actually worked out perfect because we could take this trip at anytime within the year and we had already planned on going out there in April for Cole and Carters 1st birthday!
We got to do so many fun things while we were out there such as a little shopping, laying by the pool, waking up whenever we wanted, hanging out with our friends Bryan and Michelle (who happened to be there at the same time as us...SO fun), seeing my first Cirque du Soleil--Ka, taking a HELICOPTER tour of the GRAND CANYON---AMAZING, and of course spending time with my amazingly, adorable, cuddly, sweet, handsome, and Carter and Coleman, and my wonderful sissy and bro-in-law.
Since I just told you everything that we did, I will let the pics speak for themselves...i might interject a few things! :)

Thank you TONS to my sister for allowing Shane and I to stay with you guys at your house! It allowed for tons of extra loving on those babies.....theres nothing like waking up and being able to go upstairs and get morning kisses from little angels!!!! So thank you SO much! You are the BEST sister to me and best MOM to those little guys, they are SO lucky to have you!!!!!
God has truly blessed me....there is no doubt about that!
